Alex Turner

Senior Consultant / Senior Finance Manager

Alex brings to SER a depth of financial and analytical experience to support our wage compliance projects.  Alex has over 15 years’ experience as a Chartered Accountant working for organisations such as KPMG, BT Financial Group, Elders and SAHMRI. 

Alex utilises her high attention to detail and accounting experience to provide in depth analysis on our wage compliance projects to ensure high quality, reliable and efficient results for our clients.  

Alex also works as our Senior Finance Manager managing all our finance and support functions.

Tara O’Connor

Principal Consultant

Tara brings to SER a wealth of industrial relations experience gained from being Associate and Conciliator at the Fair Work Commission to an Assistant Director and Senior Lawyer at the ABCC.  Tara has had extensive exposure to the building and construction, hospitality, nursing, social communities and manufacturing industries. Tara utilises her background to provide assistance to clients on a wide range of industrial matters. Tara has a strong understanding of not only the legislative requirements for a businesses but also the practical implications and risks that business may face in the industrial relations sphere, and works closely with her clients to mitigate these risks and implement practical solutions. 

Tara has a particular focus on wage compliance projects and workplace investigations in which she applies high levels of attention to detail and analytics to deliver exceptional results.

Amelia Peters

Principal Consultant

Amelia comes to SER with a strong legal background and in-depth technical expertise in most facets of employment and industrial relations law. With over 15 years’ experience in advising public and private sector clients on their workplace obligations, Amelia has held a number of high profile roles including:

  • Senior Associate at Herbert Smith Freehills;
  • Principle IR Partner at Santos;
  • Legal Counsel for the Commonwealth Bank; and
  • Employee Relations Lawyer at AREEA.

Clients appreciate Amelia’s practical and business-focused approach to a range of industrial matters including advising on modern awards, enterprise agreements, enterprise bargaining, management of PIA, right of entry and collective disputes. Amelia also has a wealth of practical experience in managing ‘day-to-day’ employment matters such as performance management, misconduct and return to work issues.

Amelia has regularly advised clients on unfair dismissal claims, general protections applications, discrimination and harassment complaints, as well as arbitration of industrial disputes. Amelia regularly appears before the Fair Work Commission in a range of workplace relations and employment matters and maintains a pragmatic approach to resolution of disputes.

Amelia has a particular expertise in delivering sensitive, victim-centric workplace investigations that are also efficient, fit-for-purpose and cost-effective.

Hannah Greenwell

Consultant 

Hannah is a multifaceted professional with an academic background in Law and Business (Human Resources Management).

Having worked through various industries including health, government, and education, Hannah has worked on numerous strategic HR initiatives, including implementing enterprise agreements, drafting employment contracts, delivering process improvement projects, and providing strategic advice.

As a Consultant, Hannah leverages her diverse skill set to collaborate with and support the team.

Andrea Summer

Senior Consultant

Andrea brings over 15 years of specialised workplace relations and industrial law expertise across government, private sector, not-for-profit organisations, healthcare, local government and union environments. 

Working nationally and internationally, Andrea has supported complex negotiations in Spain and Colombia, bringing valuable cross-cultural perspective to Australian workplace challenges. Her background in Anthropology provides unique insight into human behaviour and organisational dynamics, enhancing her ability to navigate sensitive workplace matters.

Clients value Andrea’s expert communication skills and particular talent for cultivating and nurturing stakeholder relationships across complex employment matters including enterprise bargaining, modern award interpretation, policy development and compliance frameworks. 

Andrea has specialised expertise in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, having developed innovative frameworks including sexual harassment audit processes, inclusive recruitment programs, and engagement strategies using co-design principles. 

Nicholas De Pasquale

Senior Consultant

Nicholas has a background as an employment lawyer and has advised and represents employers across a range of industries and sectors.

Nicholas graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and International Relations from the University of Adelaide in 2021 and completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Adelaide in 2022. 

Nicholas advises employers on compliance with Fair Work legislation and assists with employment-related dispute resolution. His experience includes drafting and advising on employment contracts, workplace policies, enterprise bargaining and independent contractor agreements, as well as assisting employers with disciplinary and misconduct investigations. Nicholas has also acted for employers in unfair dismissal, general protections and restraint of trade proceedings before the Fair Work Commission, the Federal Court of Australia, and the Supreme Court of South Australia.

Rachael Williams

Senior Consultant

Rachael is an experienced employment professional who has worked as a practising lawyer in both private and government sectors since graduating from Flinders University Law School in 2015. In 2025, Rachael completed a Graduate Certificate in Business Law, further strengthening her specialist knowledge in workplace regulation and compliance.

Over the course of her career, Rachael has advised on complex matters involving state and federal workplace legislation within public and private sectors. Rachael has developed a strong track record in resolving employment disputes and her experience includes representing and advocating for the medical profession within the public sector, working within the legal team at the Fair Work Ombudsman as well as managing a community legal service, leading service delivery and providing strategic guidance on emerging workplace issues.

Rachael has represented clients in a wide range of jurisdictions, including the Federal Circuit and Family Court, the South Australian Employment Tribunal, the Fair Work Commission, the Australian Human Rights Commission, and the Equal Opportunity Commission. Rachael is committed to delivering clear, practical advice and supporting clients to navigate Australia’s complex workplace relations framework with confidence.

Liam Butterworth

Consultant

Liam is an energetic young professional with a background in industrial relations and employment law. 

Liam began his professional life as an associate at the Fair Work Commission.  This provided in-depth experience with enterprise bargaining, unfair dismissal and general protections matters. 

Subsequently, Liam acted as a lawyer with the Fair Work Ombudsman building his experience in wage compliance, litigation and workplace investigations. 

Liam’s background has instilled in him a deep understanding of the Australian industrial relations landscape.

Kathryn Rees

Senior Consultant

Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with over 10 years’ experience in employment law.

Kathryn gained her industrial relations experience through representing employers at the South Australian Business Chamber, working on businesses across various sizes and industries. Kathryn has had extensive exposure acting for employers in the Fair Work Commission and the South Australian Employment Tribunal in Unfair Dismissal, General Protections and Workers Compensation disputes.

Kathryn is skilled in Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation, advising employers on the practical application and implication of industrial instruments.

Kathryn is experienced in and has a passion for workplace investigations and enjoys working closely with clients to resolve workplace disputes.
